When I started working at the golf course, every employee used plastic cups, lids, and straws to consume their free soda. Sometimes they each used several a night. I had to put a stop to this as soon as possible so I went out and made an investment in the planet by purchasing reusable BPA-free water bottles for everyone. Not only can they use these to replace waste at work, but they can take them home and do the same.
Now I know not everyone is in the position to buy water bottles for everyone they work with, but could you talk to your employer? Could you ask if they could sponsor the earth through reusables? What else could you do along these lines to reduce the amount of waste produced through cups, lids, and straws in the work place?
