10 uses Tuesday: Dental Floss

Break open the medicine cabinets because today's 10 uses Tuesday is focusing on floss!  I love the creativity that takes place when you force yourself to think about things differently!  My husband is wonderful at this.  He isn't a particularly creative person, he is just incredibly cheap, which causes him to come up with great ideas like this use for dental floss:

Yes, that's dental floss (unused, he's not quite that cheap) holding Tucker's helmet on his head.  That piece of floss has actually held up much better than the original cheap piece of plastic that it came with.

What about you?  Any fancy floss solutions?

I'm visiting from SITS! I've never really given much thought to the uses for dental floss, but I am impressed that it can keep a helmet on your head!

I use floss as a hanger for some Christmas ornaments. I also use it to tie up the random flower bouquets that I get. I'll tie the floss on, hang it upside down and let the flowers dry out. This way, the flowers can be used for a lot longer! I have at least 3 dries rose bouquets in my living room right now.

it's a great way to slice soft cheese, like goats cheese (although that doesn't come in handy at your house, now does it?) and cinnamon roll dough!

My husband uses dental floss to cut our Slab soap in half (I am not strong enough to do it). The small piece is easier to handle and helps the soap last longer.

Y'all are truly brilliant! Michele-flowers is great...you know I love 2 for ones! Emilie-CHEESE-who would have thought? we don't really have a use for that but I still can't believe the ingenuity. And Over Coffee-soap...that is so smart!

i clean lots of small things with a toothbrush and some floss. i like the idea of sewing buttons with it, i think they would be really hard to lose this way.

Thanks for visiting my blog! I use dental floss to cut through soft stuff like clay for ceramics projects or dough for baking. Obviously I use the non flavored stuff lol
