Fan Friendly

I saw this tip in "Real Simple" magazine. On a side note, "Real Simple" is a great magazine to find some earth friendly tips because being green really is, well, real simple.  Don't get me wrong, it's far from a green magazine, but there are a few gems in there...like this one.

So the idea is that you use a pillow case to dust your fans.  Just put it over one blade at a time and pull off.  This is great because it keeps the dust in the pillowcase instead of flying down into your face, as happened to me once and I had a sneezing, coughing, runny nose fit for 24 hours straight.

Has anyone tried this?  Did it work?  Any other great tips for dusting?  Dusting fans?

Don't forget, today is the last day for entering the Shaklee Spring cleaning giveaway!

Never tried it, but that sounds like a good idea.

Tip: I use an old spray bottle filled with water and spray my reused swiffer dusters lightly and it really gets up the dust.

I redeem myself by washing them with dish soap and sticking the fluffy part back on the handle and hanging it in the shower to let it dry. So far, they hold up pretty well to the washing and since trying this, I haven't switched to a new one! I am going to try to reinforce a new one when this one finally won't work anymore to make it last even longer.

For deep cleaning dusting once a month, I use microfiber cloths and a little water. It even takes off finger prints from mirrors.

ok, that's brilliant. Because the dust is AWFUL from ceiling fans. tucking that tip away for future reference!

I'm glad I visited your blog today (from SITS). Have a great day!
